Firstly I would like to welcome a new Organising Committee member, Mr Ashvani Srivastava who is President of Strategic Initiatives at Apollo Hospital Enterprise in Hyderabad, India. We look forward to working with Ashvani and an updated contact list will be distributed shortly.
Following our meeting in Singapore the Call for Papers has now been finalized and the conference website www.himssasiapac.org is now live in readiness for the distribution of the emailed notice for Call for Papers to key organisations and contacts this week.
HIMSS and CHIK look forward to working with you to ensure that the Call for Papers is promoted as widely as possible, as soon as possible.
Please note that the Call for Papers will remain open until 18 October 2006. Getting this message out as widely as possible is currently our primary focus.
I will be contacting each of you by email and phone today (Tuesday) or tomorrow (Wednesday) to discuss your comments and recommendations on the distribution list (attached) which focuses on organizations and attempts to cover all relevant countries/locations within the region.
HIMSS and CHIK will also be using our extensive individual and vendor contacts to promote the Call for Papers. Vendor contacts will be urged to pass the call for papers on to their clients and to encourage them to submit papers.
While distributing notices of the Call for Papers via email we will also be seeking commitments from organizations that wish to become a “Supporting Organisation” for the HIMSS AsiaPac 2007 Conference and Exhibition. We hope that each of you will also consider your organisation becoming a Supporting Organisation. Full details of the role, responsibilities and benefits are attached. If you have any questions in relation to this, please direct them to me.
And finally, please remember that we would like to receive details of 3-4 reviewers from each of you by 1 September. We need their name, suggested area of expertise, contact details and a short bio. We will not make an approach to them without involving the person who nominated them. Please note that Reviewers can be members of the Organising Committee but Reviewers are not eligible to speak at the conference. Reviewers will be acknowledged at the conference, will receive a substantial registration discount and a gift from HIMSS.
So, to summarise we seek your help in the following ways:
- your guidance on the key organisations / individuals / vendors to approach in each of your respective locations (for Call for Papers & Supporting Organisations) to distribute the call for papers and the best method of approach for each
- your assistance in approaching organisations this week
- your suggestions for Supporting Organisations
- 3-4 suggested Reviewers (due by 1 September)
